On Friday 9 December 1960, the first episode of what was to become Britains most successful TV Drama Series was broadcast - Coronation Street.

In the beginning there were three women of different values, social standing and temperament who all lived in the same street. Ena Sharples, Annie Walker and Elsie Tanner who formed the foundations of this long running TV Series.

Today, Coronation Street is more than a Soap Opera - It is a national institution that is watched regularly by over 20 Million people in the UK alone.
